HPLC Column, RP C8 Octyl, 5um, 4.0mm ID x 150mm Length, 100A. Cogent Brand. 1 EA. Special Order Item.
Additional Information:
Cogent RP C8™ HPLC Columns are designed for reliable reversed-phase chromatography using a traditional octyl (C8) bonded stationary phase. Manufactured with ultra-high purity silica and fully double end capped bonding technology, these columns provide reproducible retention, excellent peak shape, and long column life. The RP C8™ phase is a USP L7 equivalent chemistry and is commonly used as an alternative for methods developed on similar C8 phases. Compared to C18 columns, RP C8™ generally provides lower hydrophobic retention while maintaining excellent selectivity for many neutral and non-polar compounds.
68508-15P-4 is packed with 5 µm RP C8™ particles featuring a 100 Å pore size in a 4.0 mm ID x 150 mm length format. The 150 mm column length provides high resolving power and increased peak capacity for complex analytical separations. The RP C8™ stationary phase is particularly useful for hydrophobic compounds, neutral analytes, and long-chain fatty acids where somewhat lower retention than a comparable C18 column is preferred. The 5 µm particle size provides low backpressure and dependable chromatographic performance on conventional HPLC systems.
This column is frequently selected as a starting point for new method development and is also well suited as a replacement for methods specifying USP L7 chemistry. The 4.0 mm internal diameter offers an effective balance between sensitivity, solvent consumption, and compatibility with traditional analytical HPLC instrumentation. This combination of column dimensions and particle size makes it well suited for pharmaceutical, environmental, food, and routine analytical workflows.
